MISSISSIPPI ARTS COMMISSION AWARDS ROCK ’N ROLL MUSEUM, INC. GRANT

The Rock ’N Roll Museum Inc. of Clarksdale, MS, has been awarded a $14,000 operating grant for the museum from the Mississippi Arts Commission (MAC).  This grant is a portion of the $1.5 million in grants the Commission will award in 2016-2017 and will be used to cover expenses for the museum’s programs, events and festivals. …

CCC Students Receive Awards for Spring Semester Art Major Project

The Coahoma Community College Fine Arts Department and the Rock & Blues Museum have been working together with the Spring Semester Art Majors.  On Friday, April 8, 2016 we held a reception and exhibit of the students’ work.

CCC Students Receive Awards for Fall Semester Art Major Project

The Coahoma Community College Fine Arts Department and the Rock & Blues Museum have been working together with the Fall Semester Art Majors.  On Thursday, December 10, we held a reception and exhibit of the students’ work.  

The following students received awards for their submissions:

CCC AND ROCK & BLUES MUSEUM COLLABORATE ON PROJECTS FOR ART MAJORS . .

The Coahoma Community College Fine Arts Department and the Rock & Blues Museum are working together for the Fall and Spring semesters on Commercial Arts and Fine Arts projects.  With the help of a $2000 grant award from the Community Foundation of NW Mississippi, the Museum will bring the Fall Semester CCC Art Major students into the Museum for inspiration for a Commercial Arts Project.  …

We are excited to announce that, after years of hard work, Jan Doense has finished the final cut of the movie “Cheesehead Blues, Adventures of a Dutchman in the Mississippi Delta”! The film will be shown at the CLARKSDALE FILM FESTIVAL on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at 3:30 pm in the upstairs theater of the Delta Cinema on 3rd Street.  …

The Museum received notices and certificates from the State of Mississippi (Mississippi Development Authority) that the annual Clarksdale Caravan Music Fest and our 2nd Street Blues Parties are considered to be an integral part of Mississippi’s Creative Economy!  …

DELMA FURNISS HOSPITALITY STATION CELEBRATES 10TH ANNIVERSARY

The Delma Furniss Hospitality Station in Lula celebrated its 10 year anniversary Friday!  It’s located just off Highway 61 heading south from Memphis to Clarksdale on the corner of Highway 61 & the road to Helena, Arkansas.

In 2004, the Delma Furniss Hospitality Station opened on what was a spot that used to be only farmland. …
